About this project

BMW, a major automotive company was investing significant manual effort daily in data collection, collation, and report production across weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles. The time-intensive nature of these tasks meant valuable resources were tied up in repetitive work rather than strategic analysis and decision-making.

We were engaged to document their entire data preparation and reporting workflow, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement. Through comprehensive process mapping, we developed automated report templates with standardised formatting that eliminated the majority of manual production work. Additionally, we collaborated with their internal IT department to create custom apps, macros, and workflow shortcuts that extended benefits beyond just reporting.

The streamlined processes freed up staff time for higher-value analytical work, reduced the risk of manual errors in data handling, and created consistency across all reporting outputs. The tools and frameworks established continue to serve the organisation across multiple departments and use cases.
